Upgraded my PS3 to the latest firmware 3.01. Previously, I've not had any problems with fan noise when watching a DVD, but now it's worse then ever before. The fan noise is as loud as when playing games, ie. so high so that I muse increase the volume a lot to hear anything.
It was not quite what I had thought that my PS3 experience would be. I can live with some noise when playing games, but not when I only watch a movie. Movies cannot be that performance heavy.
You've better shape up Sony! It is good that Sony releases updates / upgrades of firmware, but when upgrade becomes a downgrade of the whole PS3 experience I'm not happy. If you're reading this and have been thinking about upgrading... don't!
